I am happy to announce that Yuki’s Story is back in line. I want to address some things relating to the series.
As you all know, Yuki’s Story hasn’t got a new journal for months. That’s because I had to think about other things and what to do with other media involving the series. I honestly think the series will last monger than I thought due to delays. However, The journal entries will most likely last until 2019. I’ve been thinking about possible stories about the series to make it more interesting. I had to admit that some certain concepts during Yuki’s Junior year has something that I shouldn’t put like bringing back Ron and made Karen who lasted a few pages. She wasn’t that interesting anyway, so both will barely appear. It took me a while to realize that I can make better stories, and that had me thinking about this during last year’s hiatus and slow progression. It can relate to doing my videos or MMD version of Yuki’s Story. The point is, the journal is back into action, and even if I have upcoming busy things in my life, I should still type.
As for Yuki’s Story MMD, the new chapter should be back later this month. I am done with revising the models now. They aren’t that different. Minoru’s hair is now closer to his Kisekae model. The shades are now more cel shaded and shaders will be applied to all models. I’ve been playing around the toon shaders last month. The best I can find is pretty much HATOON2 maker. I’ve did a lot of test and I need to tweak shading colors and texture size. Also, I am using Croquis shader to give more outlines on more parts of each model. I am doing a video test of the opening that I did last year during spring. I plan to do another upload with 4k involved with all use of shaders. Yeah, I already made that, but this is for another test and see if I can make it more anime like. I am thinking about 30fps and 60fps. Certain anime are in 30fps like Pokemon. 24fps is the majority of fps used in anime. It should be up not too long in this month.
Anything else, I would like to do other models, but I got technical things to showcase and explain about MMD for the community to understand how I did my videos. You should see those uploaded for the next month as well as anything Yuki’s Story related.

So today, I decide to do an announcement about this hiatus. I was doing a slight polish on Yuki’s model, and I finish that, and I will get to the other characters and shouldn’t take long for the rest.
I am on progress to make a BTS video for Ash’s Vacation. It’s should be about few minutes long and will go over technical details of how I made an AR like scene by having a model fit to the pre-rendered background. It will go over of how I saved the clips and how I produced voice clips from AT&T TTS. It will announce about Yuki’s Story and seeing the main Tumblr page.
The announcement will be about Yuki’s Story in ONA format, meaning I can make it look close to an anime with 3D models that has anime like shading and having eyebrows overlapping the hair. It will show a demo of Yuki fighting Ron with an edge line shader that will be used to show more facial details. I was also testing a lot of toon shadings and effects to make it close to an anime as possible. I did some new technical enhancements to do great video management and be ready to make 4k videos when the time comes.
Well, I thought May will be my busiest, but not a lot. Though, I had some business with my current house getting sold and spending time thinking about the ONA. ONA is gonna be my biggest project. Not sure how long the video will be. The script has started, but not finished yet. However, the concepts are. June will be my busiest month actually and confirmed that me and my family will be moving near the end of the month. That’s why I hold off from making any new videos because I don’t know if I can progress any further and halt the progress when I start moving. So, I decide to hold off and make scripts for the videos instead. I will make the scripts and do some planning.
Also, I may go back to do Pretty Rhythm models again since I have no other videos to do yet. After unpacking everything and help out on the new house for a week or two and got internet, I will most likely do video progress again. In the meantime, models, scripts, experiments, Yuki’s Story journals and MMD post, and blogs on tech stuff will be coming.

I want to explain about my hiatus this month. Since my place is getting on sale very soon, we had to do everything to get our stuff stored to keep things cleaned. My last post has me saying that I can do a few things to post this month, but it turns out that my place needs more time to arrange everything, and that is why it took longer than expected.

I haven’t post anything else besides finishing chapter 10 of Yuki’s Story MMD. I am currently doing adjustments to my models to look more better and more cel shaded, and more acceptable for shaders such as NCHLshader2. I even know more tricks to make my style even better. I found out about alphaeye shader that lets the characters show their facial expression without their hairs in the way, and looking at Aki, her hair is blocking her left eye and eyebrows. Besides, I use several toon shaders on my models to see if they look great. They’re for the upcoming ONA for Yuki’s Story that will take place during season 2, with introductions for the new viewers. The script has initally started a while ago and the video should be out later this year. That’s my next challenging project ever since Ash’s Vacation. The journal entries are in a slow moment due to mostly busy stuff around home.

What about May? May may be my busiest month of the year so maybe only a journal entry will be posted. We’ll see. What about other projects? I decide to hold them until June. In the mean time, I can only write about them or think about ideas. My next video is Ladybug instead of Randomness because of the continuation of Ash’s Vacation, on the small part. The writing is almost done. I may have a chance to do a little basic animation if I have certain amount of time. Also, Yuki’s Story MMD Chapter 11 should be out around May, but it won’t be frequent. I want to announce something today. I have few things to do for my content. Before I go over them, I want to say that I may not have that much time around May. At May or maybe June, I am moving to another town for a bigger house, and so I only could do smaller amount of content. I should still have enough to bring some good content though.
MMD.For videos, I was gonna do Miraculous Ladybug MMD video and I am almost finished with it. However, I thought it would take longer to do because I would have to make stages to have some of the show’s settings like classrooms and school, and maybe Chloe’s apartment, or hotel room pretty much. The Ladybug video will be moved to after Randomness, which will be done this month. I think doing randomness is less time consuming and give me more time to do other things before moving. I most likely have my desktop computer packed a week before moving out, and it’s needed to make videos. I will start doing Randomness later this week. After moving, I may start making videos again, but expect it to be at least late June or around July. For Randomness, this will be my first video to use Raycast, or RayMMD that is called now. It is time consuming for video rendering, as said in my downsampling post, but not for animating or applying shaders that much. Also, I will continue doing Iris videos around Summer.

Yuki’s Story.Moving doesn’t really affect the progress for the series that much. I still can use my laptop for snapshot rendering and do journals to make chapters. Well, I think when I am about to move out, I won’t be able to post Yuki’s Story MMD since the internet will be taken down, and same can be said when moving in to another house for the first time. I will have to rely on my mobile to post chapters, but it may not be a simple task since I have to use usb tethering from my phone, and knowing the bandwidth, uploading MMD panel strips can be time consuming, and also I can be busy packing things and unpacking, as well as helping out the house. However, I can still make more chapters with my laptop to use on my only free time and I will still make MMD chapters. It’s just that it’s gonna be delayed and not posted right away.Besides the moving, I am gonna finish the MMD chapter around next weekend and I have few pages left. For the next chapters on journal entries, I haven’t started the next chapter yet because I had to do other things. It should be posted at least next week.
Other things:I do plan to redo the MMD Supersampling video because 720p60 video bitrate destroys the quality and you can’t tell the difference between AA methods. I would have to upscale the 720p samples to either 1440p or 4k and just have 30fps to save bitrate. Also, I am including Downsampling to compare temporal aliasing more.I may give a chance to do another Pretty Rhythm model for MMD. It will be Serenon with Kaname. Let’s see how much I can do them.
That’s really it. I am happy that you follow my stuff, even though I don’t get that much viewers here. I don’t plan to have progress posted in May and maybe June. Just maybe.
